HALF-RIM (RIMLON) EYEWEAR RESTRINGING:
The most common repair, with half rim glasses also known as rimlon eyewear, is restringing the nylon rope. The nylon rope is the string that secures the lens in place on a half rim eyewear frame. This frame style is most commonly assosiated with metal frames, but is also available in plastic frames, which both can be repaired successfully. For the most part they use the same techniques. However, some of the plastics half-rim eyewear frames use a fusing technique.
